Project Coordinator
Job Purpose
The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, overseeing, and supporting Make Ready Engineering (MRE) activities across field and back-office teams. This role serves as the central point of coordination between field engineers, engineering staff, and project leadership to ensure accurate data collection, efficient use of Katapult, timely deliverables, and continuous departmental improvement.
The Project Coordinator plays a key role in managing workflows, identifying operational needs, supporting resource planning, and driving scalable processes that support departmental growth.
Duties and Responsibilities
Make Ready Engineering & Katapult Oversight
- Oversee Make Ready Engineering workflows from field collection through engineering completion.
- Manage and monitor Katapult projects to ensure accurate data entry and adherence to standards.
- Review field-collected data for completeness, accuracy, and readiness for engineering.
- Coordinate corrections or rework with field staff as needed.
Project Coordination & Workflow Management
- Coordinate daily and weekly MRE activities.
- Track project progress, milestones, and deliverables.
- Identify bottlenecks or workflow inefficiencies.
- Provide regular status updates to leadership.
Field Engineering Support & Quality Control
- Validate field data and ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety and utility standards.
- Coordinate as-built verification after construction.
Departmental Support & Growth
- Assist leadership in identifying staffing, tooling, and training needs.
- Help develop standardized procedures and best practices.
- Support onboarding and training of new personnel.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain organized project records.
- Prepare internal and client-facing reports.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of Make Ready Engineering processes.
- Experience with Katapult and GIS systems.
- Understanding of electric utility infrastructure.
- Advanced knowledge of NESC specifications.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Working Conditions
- Combination of office and field support work.
- Travel to project sites as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Direct Reports
None currently; however this role is expected to evolve into a leadership and management position as the department grows, with responsibility for supervising technical, engineering, and coordination staff.
